WA Motor Industry Foundation Inc

The WA Motor Industry Foundation originated as an idea between the WA Chamber of Automotive Industry and the Motor Trades Association of WA, as a means for the West Australian automotive industry to give back to the West Australian community and promote its philanthropic efforts.

Today the Motor Industry Foundation is a thriving charity, supported by a range of businesses and individuals, from dealerships to panel beaters, from insurers to mechanics, petrol stations to finace companies.

It aims to assist members of the WA community who have 'fallen through the cracks' and perhaps have nowhere else to turn for assistance. The driving principle is to improve the quality of life for people who need it the most.

The foundation assists families with profoundly disabled children and provides vehicles fitted with hydraulic wheelchair hoists which to assist in improving the quality of life for families that have not been able to source assistance through other government or community funded organisations.

The foundation receives no goverment funding and relies on the generoisty of the local motoring community for funds to buy and run the vehicles. To date there are 17 of these vehicles on the road with 25 more families on the waiting list.
